Hall’s Library at Margate [1789] Pub. June 4, 1789 by J. Hall at Margate and J. Malton, No 6 Conduit Street, Hanover Square: Hand coloured etching and aquatint. People gathered in a neo-classical interior with windows in the left-hand and far walls, six corinthian columns dividing the room, a chandelier and desks, with book-shelves on the right-hand wall, objects of all sorts, including miniature boats, carriages and other items, in cabinets nearer the far wall. |

In the second half of the 19th century the print scene was dominated by small-scale steel line-engraved vignettes. These were produced in large numbers, mostly by London printers, but some from Local printers, and catered for the cheaper end of the tourist market. They are listed separately here. |
